What does it do?
Acid-forming microorganisms lower the pH value and prevent the insoluble lime-magnesia compound from forming at all. The EvoTab prevents accumulation in continuous use. With the continuous use of the EvoTab, a blockage of the drain line in a conventional urinal is therefore impossible. With the waterless urinal, on the other hand, the replacement period of the respective odor trap is at least four times longer.
Waterless urinals are designed to conserve water by
eliminating the need for flushing. Instead of using water to flush away urine,
they rely on a combination of gravity and specially designed traps to prevent
odors and maintain hygiene. Here are some advantages of odor traps in waterless
urinals:
Water Conservation: The primary advantage of
waterless urinals is their ability to save significant amounts of water.
Traditional flush urinals can use several gallons of water per flush, whereas
waterless urinals require no water for flushing. This can lead to substantial
water savings, particularly in high-traffic areas such as public restrooms or
commercial buildings.
Cost Savings: By reducing water usage,
waterless urinals can result in lower water bills for both residential and
commercial users. Over time, the cost savings can be significant, especially in
areas where water costs are high or in facilities with heavy restroom usage.
Easy Maintenance: Waterless urinals
are relatively low-maintenance compared to traditional urinals. They don't have
flushing mechanisms, valves, or handles that can malfunction or require regular
repairs. With proper maintenance, which typically involves periodic cleaning
and replacing cartridges or odor traps, waterless urinals can offer long-term
convenience and cost-effectiveness.
Odor Control: The odor traps in
waterless urinals are designed to prevent foul smells from escaping into the
restroom area. These traps use a liquid barrier or sealant, usually made of a
lighter-than-urine liquid or an oil-based solution, which forms a barrier
between the urinal bowl and the restroom. This effectively prevents the odor
from permeating the restroom space and ensures a more pleasant environment for
users.
Hygiene and Cleanliness: Waterless urinals
can contribute to improved hygiene and cleanliness in restrooms. Since there is
no water used for flushing, there is less potential for water splashing or
overflow, reducing the risk of urine or bacteria spreading on the floor or
surrounding surfaces. The absence of flush handles or buttons also minimizes
the touchpoints, which can be a source of cross-contamination.
Environmental Impact: Water scarcity is a
growing concern in many regions, and waterless urinals can play a part in
reducing overall water consumption. By conserving water resources, these
urinals contribute to a more sustainable approach to water management, helping
to protect the environment and reduce the strain on water infrastructure.
